The first celebrity feud of 2026 may have just arrived—and it’s already messy.

Matthew Koma, Grammy-winning songwriter and husband of Hilary Duff, set social media ablaze after posting a biting Instagram Story that appeared to take direct aim at Ashley Tisdale. The sarcastic post came days after Tisdale published a deeply personal essay about leaving what she described as a “toxic mom group,” and many fans immediately connected the dots.

On Tuesday, Koma shared a mock magazine-style graphic that featured him photoshopped onto Tisdale’s body from her recent The Cut photoshoot. The image showed him sitting on a white couch dressed in black, wearing rose-colored sunglasses. Above it, he added a fake headline branding her “the most self-obsessed tone-deaf person on earth,” followed by a subhead that read, “A mom group tell-all through a father’s eyes.” He capped it off with a caption joking, “Read my new interview with @TheCut.”

Although Koma never mentioned Tisdale by name, the timing and imagery made the target obvious. The post arrived just five days after Tisdale, 40, published her essay in The Cut, where she detailed her decision to step away from a mom group that once felt supportive but eventually left her feeling excluded and emotionally exhausted.

In the essay, Tisdale reflected on joining the group after welcoming her first daughter, Jupiter, in 2021. At first, she described it as a close-knit circle of smart, funny women who felt like a village. Over time, however, she began noticing she was being left out of gatherings, sometimes finding out about events only after seeing them posted on Instagram.

She wrote candidly about how the experience resurfaced old insecurities, admitting it made her feel like she was back in high school. Eventually, she sent a message to the group saying the dynamic felt unhealthy and that she no longer wanted to participate. While she stressed that she didn’t consider the moms bad people, she acknowledged the situation left her drained.

Speculation quickly exploded online, with fans wondering whether the essay was about Tisdale’s well-known celebrity mom circle, which has included Hilary Duff, Mandy Moore, and Meghan Trainor. The rumors intensified when fans noticed Tisdale had unfollowed Duff and Moore on Instagram. However, Tisdale’s representative told TMZ there was “zero truth” to claims that the essay targeted any of those women and dismissed political rumors as well.

Koma’s post, however, suggested at least one person close to the situation didn’t see it as harmless. He has not explained his comments publicly, and neither Duff nor Tisdale has responded directly. Still, the post reached hundreds of thousands of followers and ignited a wave of reactions, with some fans applauding Koma for defending his wife and others arguing that his response only proved Tisdale’s point.

The drama didn’t stop there. Samii Ryan, a fashion designer and member of the mom group, shared a cryptic Instagram Story featuring a clip set to Megan Thee Stallion’s music, widely interpreted as a not-so-subtle reaction. Meanwhile, former Disney Channel star Christy Carlson Romano posted a TikTok joking about watching “celeb mom drama” unfold from the outside, later telling TMZ that while mom groups can be helpful, they can also become unexpectedly intense.

What began as a personal essay about adult friendships has now turned into a full-blown celebrity standoff, highlighting how even the most famous parents aren’t immune to complicated group dynamics. With no official responses from Hilary Duff or Mandy Moore, and silence from Tisdale herself, the situation remains unresolved—but the internet is clearly watching closely.
