The wait is finally over—Disney’s live-action Tangled has found its Rapunzel and Flynn Rider. Rising star Teagan Croft, best known for her breakout role as Raven in DC’s Titans, is set to bring the long-haired princess to life, while Milo Manheim, the Disney Channel favorite from the Zombies musical series, will charm audiences as Flynn Rider.
At the helm is Michael Gracey, the visionary director of The Greatest Showman, who plans to recapture the original’s musical sparkle with a fresh, cinematic twist. The screenplay is penned by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Do Revenge, Thor: Love and Thunder), and Disney veteran Kristin Burr—who produced Cruella and Freaky Friday—is steering production.
The casting follows an exhaustive international search, with final screen tests taking place in London late last year. Croft and Manheim will step into roles originally voiced by Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi, a pairing that helped make Tangled a modern Disney classic.
Both actors stand on the brink of career-defining moments. Disney’s live-action remakes have a history of turning fresh faces into global names, and this project could be another billion-dollar phenomenon—just like Lilo & Stitch earlier this year. Still, expectations are sky-high: fans who grew up belting “I’ve Got a Dream” will be watching closely to see if the new duo can capture that original magic.
Croft has already proven her dramatic chops in the Netflix adventure True Spirit, while Manheim has demonstrated his musical range both onscreen and onstage, recently starring in Little Shop of Horrors. With chemistry, charm, and big shoes to fill, they’re ready to climb Disney’s next fairy-tale tower—this time, for real.
