Ahn Jae Hyun is getting candid about life after divorce. On the upcoming episode of KBS2’s variety show Heart on Wheels, airing Friday night, Ahn Jae Hyun reflects on the emotional realities of being single while surrounded by married friends.
The episode features a special Squid Game reunion, with Netflix stars Yang Dong Geun, Wi Ha Joon, and Park Gyu Young joining the regular cast, which includes Lee Min Jung, Boom, Ahn Jae Hyun, Kim Jung Hyun, and Kim Jae Won. After a night of fun games and shared meals, the group settles in for a late-night heart-to-heart.
“Most of my friends are married with kids now,” Ahn Jae Hyun says during the conversation. “I feel awkward making spontaneous plans. Even when I have free time on the weekends, they’re usually busy with their families. Lately, being alone just feels… lonely.”
Ahn Jae Hyun was previously married to Koo Hye Sun, whom he met on the set of the 2016 drama Blood. The two divorced in July 2020.
In the episode, host Boom offers some heartfelt advice, encouraging Ahn to reconsider love and marriage. “You’ve already overcome the hard part,” Boom says. “Why not try it again and experience something new?”
Caught off guard by the sincerity, Ahn Jae Hyun waves it off, laughing, “I’m done with pain.” But Boom presses on with a surprising suggestion that leaves Ahn Jae Hyun speechless, and bursting into laughter: “Is this what Heart on Wheels means?”
Boom, born in 1982, married a non-celebrity seven years his junior in 2022.
